December WAV Meeting - Christmas Party

For the December meeting, we celebrate with a feast. Everyone brings something to share.
The gift exchange theme this year was "Time". So, participants made a gift related to the theme to be exchanged through a random drawing. This is always a lot of fun.

Pegee opened Kathy H's package (Kathy was not able to attend the meeting, but had a gift for the exchange).

November WAV Meeting

The November WAV meeting kicked off with a tulle grab. Cynthia brought a box of tulle that had been gifted from a manufacturer. More than she could use or give away, it was offered to the group members.

The next stage of the tulle give away is Salvaged Threads - a small quilt challenge with an entry deadline of January 6. Here is the link to the details.

Much of the meeting involved self jurying for a group show.
Everyone brought several pieces, which were spread on the table. We selected our favorite two from each artist. These will be delivered to the curator.

Kathy offered a wonderful program. First, she shared the results of her bleeding tissue paper dyeing.

Next, she shared some of her felting projects.

And brought supplies for each of us to make a felted ornament!

A very good turnout! Awesome meeting. The pictures do not do it justice, but this is all I have this time.

Sept 08 meeting in Cody, WY

September 08 - This month's WAV meeting was held at the Yellowstone Quilt Fest in Cody, WY. Over 126 quilts were hanging creating a very colorful backdrop for our meeting.

Jane shows off her second "Closure" Challenge, made with Brooke's giveaway fabric and some antique closures.

Linda shared two very interesting art quilts - one is from a "Word Challenge" sponsored by her guild in Cody.

Kathy's "Word Challenge" quilt - challenge from her quilt guild based in Cody, WY.

Kathy shows a scarf made from her llama's wool. A friend took some of the raw wool, which she spun into yarn, then made a scarf for Kathy.
